Okay, I just have to brag about my little SJ. He knows his whole alphabet and numbers up to 12 and he isn't even 2! Before Christmas Scotty started pointing out a few letters to us like I, C, O, M, S and knew a few numbers, but now the little smarty pants knows them all. Not only does he know them but he loves them. He will bring us paper and crayons and ask us to write them for him.

Another thing I have to brag about are his signs. As most people know we have been doing Signing Times with him since he was little. He has well over 100 signs that he uses. I love his little signs, they are so stinking cute.

I love being this little kiddos mom and love watching him grow and learn everyday.

Cancun

At the end of January Ty and I went to Cancun. My parents were kind enough to move into our home and take on our little guys for the week. It was such a nice break to spend time together.

St. George

A few weekends ago we went down to St. George. Ty had some meetings and we thought it would be a good excuse to get out of the snow and visit some family.

We were able to meet up with Cameron, Becka and her family for dinner and then we went back to our hotel for swimming. Scotty loved it! It was Ben's 1st time and since the water was kind of cold he was happier sitting on his Aunt Becka's lap.

The boys were exhausted after a long day of being away from home and swimming.

Ty's friends Kevin and Dave happened to be in St.George on a "golf trip" while we were down there, so Ty was able to meet up with them a play a little golf.

Amy (my favorite little sister) was also in St. George with her friend Chelsea for the weekend and Scotty, Ben and I were able to meet up with them for some ice cream!

We were sad that Jaimie had to cancel on dinner and swimming. Hopefully we will be able to see her and her family soon.

Goodness I am behind...

Here are a few from our Christmas this past year! So fun to have 2 little boys!!

I love Christmas Traditions! Ty and I have quiet a few, I can pretty much give you a play by play of what the 72 hours of Christmas Eve Eve, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will look like and has looked like for the past 9 years. :) Now that we have kids we are adding even more traditions, like going to Thanksgiving Point to see Santa, matching jammies, and fun Christmas Parties.

Last weekend the boys and I went to Sweet Tomatoes and Temple Square with my family. We were sad Ty couldn't be there, but he was working in Arizona for the week.

It was so super cold, but we still had fun. Scotty just loves being with his cousins Bwoo (Brooke) and Dah (Jack), Bah-pa (grandpa), Mah-ma (grandma), and his Aunt Mayme (Amy).

I have misplaced my camera, it is so frustrating! I really just need to go buy another but I keep thinking it is going to pop up as soon as I do. Anyway, this is the reason for so few posts and entry's.

I have been lucky in the fact that my mom has been getting some pictures for me and that my phone has a pretty nice camera on it, so I am still able to capture my sweet boys, just not as easily and nicely as I'd like.

A fun little story I want to remember.

Yesterday at church, Scotty and I were sitting quietly on the bench reading one of his beloved Sesame Street Books. This particular book was an alphabet book where it has the letter surrounded by pictures of things that start with that letter. Well when we got to the C, Scotty pointed to the it and said "C". I was shocked, I had no idea he knew any letters. So I quietly turned toward Ty and whispered over Scotty's head and Ben's carseat "Ty, he pointed out and said C!" Ty then looked at Scotty, smiled, and whispered some sort of affirmation. Scott sure felt proud and proceeded to let dad know, that he knew the letter C by yelling "TY!...TY!...TY!..." and then quietly whispering "see" while pointing to the C on the book. He continued this for a while, yelling Ty's name to get his attention then whispering C, because he knew he was supposed to be quiet.

We finally got him quiet, but continued laughing and mimicking it the rest of the day.

A favorite memory: Laying in bed with Ty, Scotty and Keeley while pregnant with Ben (S was having a bad night and came to bed with us). As I laid there watching Ty and Scotty sleep, Ben started kicking and I was overcome with the realization of how everything I need in my life fit on that king size bed.

A few weeks ago we went to the zoo. Scotty has started to get into animals latley and knows the signs for most of them. So we packed up the double stroller and made our way to the zoo.

I still can't believe we celebrated another "1st Halloween" this year. Ben was completely oblivious to what is going on around him, but Scotty sure had fun.

Mindika Moments

Mindi is a sweet neighbor (and soon to be Scotty's nursery teacher) that has an amazing talent when it comes to cooking (and throwing parties!!). When I decided I was ready to start cooking again, and none of my old recipes sounded good, I went to her blog. Last week I cooked almost every night and every recipe was from her blog. EVERY SINGLE ONE was so good and quite simple. Ty was super impressed and so excited to have yummy food being made here at home again.

One week old

Today Ben is 1 week old! We are so thrilled to have him in our family. He is such a sweet cuddly little guy!! And if you'll believe it, he has slept through the night every night since getting home from the hospital last Sunday. It ROCKS!!

Scotty seems to be adjusting well. At first he ignored him, but everyday he starts helping more, patting him more, kissing him, and wanting to hold him. It has only been a week, but even in this short week it has been fun to see the start of thier bond.

Ty and I can't believe how much we love having 2 little boys. I was so nervous about going from one to two, but I LOVE it and have been on cloud 9 since Ben was born.

**A special thanks to everyone who has brought us meals, treats, gifts, flowers and watched Scott this past week. It has been awesome and has made us feel so loved. **

Scotty and I made it home on the 16th. My mom was so kind and flew out to help us, I don't think I could have done it without her. Ty is still in Dallas and will come home this weekend. YAY! Both Scott and I miss him so much.

I am now over 36 weeks along. Yesterday at the doc I scheduled an induction date for Sept 18th, so if he isn't here by then, that is when we'll have him. I have already been having some pretty intense contractions and am showing progress but am very hopeful he stays put until the 18th. We still have so much to do, and would love a few weeks to wind down from the summer before we jump into baby mode.

I am writing/posting from my phone so I can't share any of the latest pics, but will try to soon.

Texas

Scotty had his first experience with a *real* cowboy and his cow. He instantly fell in love with this cow and wanted to touch it and play with it as if he thought it were just a bigger version of Keeley. The cowboy was very impressed in how bold Scotty was when it came to this cow, I guess most kids around his age get a little nervous. It was fun to meet this pretty cow and get our picture taken with it. It will be a good little memory of our family in Texas. Speaking of Texas, Scotty and I will be boarding a plane and coming home next Sunday. As you can see in the picture below I am getting closer to my due date and would rather not chance having a baby out here. My mom (is proving once again that she is the best mom in the whole world) and is flying out here on Saturday just to turn around and fly home with Scotty and I on Sunday. Ty will be staying a few more weeks to finish up and will join us at the end of the month. We have had a great summer and will really miss the area we live in and the friends we have made.

JFK History

Last weekend we decided to check out the JFK museum and spot where he was killed. We didn't really think it through and about 2 minutes into the audio tour we realized that:

a 1 yr old attention span + dimly lit museum - snacks (who forgets snacks?!?) x slow audio tour & long videos = 1 crabby toddler and 2 parents who paid $30 to not have time to actually look at any of the memorabilia or watch any of the videos.

The only thing that saved us, was that they let Scotty have his own headset. He was able to push buttons and listen to the *kids tour*. We were able to see the main attractions and I was able to learn a lot about the JFK history. Ty (who is a history fanatic) already knew pretty much everything and really enjoyed being able to see it all for himself. After the museum we spent some time on the grounds and took some pictures.

Trying to Beat the Heat

With the temps being in the 100's lately we decided to take a day and enjoy Hawaiian Falls Water Park. We went with 3 other families and had such a great time!

Ty had a blast on the big boy slides! His back would be bright red after going down them from "bombing it". I spent a lot of time lounging in the shallow parts, enjoying watching my boys, and chit chatting with friends.

Scott James loved the kiddie section where the water only came up to his calves. He had freedom to walk around, play in the water falls and splash areas, push buttons, watch other kids and his favorite thing-- the slides. There was one slide we could take him down on our laps and we did that quite a few times, but the other slide that was *small* enough for him, you had to go down separately. The first time I was nervous about Ty sending him down, but he loved it and wanted to do it immediately again. I didn't have my camera, so we went back at the end of the day so I could film it. By the time I we came back and got a video, he was exhausted, so he doesn't show the same enthusiasm he had earlier in the day. It is crazy how daring my little serious boy is. Not at all like I was as a child! I was nervous to even walk to close to the curb.

Since we were at a water park I didn't have my camera with me for the most part, but I did manage to get some pics at the end of the day. Here are a few of them. And then below this post is the video clip of SJ on the slide.

Yesterday we went in for a 3D ultrasound, to make up for Ty missing my 20 week ultrasound. We had such a great experience! The place was so nice, the equipment they used was top of the line and the technician was so great! Not only was she knowledgeable but she was "oohing" and "aahing" over all the cute things he was doing right along with me and calling him by name. She also said that he is one of the more playful babies she has seen, who knows what that means, but it was kind of neat to hear.

We caught him yawning, scrunching up his face, touching his nose and rubbing his eyes. It is so cute! It was crazy to see him doing such *normal* things while in there. The DVD we got is so much better then these still pictures, but I am not quite sure how to load it on here. If I can figure it out and cut clips out of it, I'll share those later.

But here are a few of the still shots.

P.S. I know 3D shots are kind of creepy. Both Ty and I swore we'd never get them, but there is something different about it when it is your own baby. So I hope no one gets too *creeped* out with me sharing these. (wink)

ICE!

I have never been one to munch on ice, but these past few days I have been CRAVING ICE like I have never craved anything before. It is killing me! I know that ice cravings can mean anemia or low iron, so I called my nurse and since my blood work came back without any problems, she thinks it is because of how dang hot it has been here and a more a sign of me being dehydrated. Whatever it is, it is bad. If the craving strikes and I don't have access to ice, you better watch out.

At least ice wont make me fat, right?

4th of July

We had a great 4th this year! Ty had to work for the first half of the day, so Scott and I went on a little lunch date to our favorite sandwich place here in Texas (Which Wich).

Then we went and picked up Ty from work. It was so hot outside and Scotty was worn out from the heat. Our car thermostat reads low anyway and when you add the humidity to the mix the *realfeel* heat index was 109. He was out like a light when we finally got to Ty's area.

Ty wasn't feeling that great (he has had some yucky virus) so we came home and all took a little nap. After we rested up, we were ready to head out and meet up with friends for the festivities. We went to Pizza Hut Park, which is a soccor stadium, where there was a festival full of live bands, fun activites, good food and a great firework show.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July!

29 Weeks!

I can't believe I am already 29 weeks preg, which means I only have 11 weeks left to go. That is CRAZY!! It means that I only have 11 more Tuesdays until I am a momma of 2. They actually gave me the choice to be induced a week early, but I already feel like I am cutting it close with not moving back to Utah until 3 weeks before my due date, so I'll probably not take them up on that option. The little guy is moving like crazy and is already a lot more *social* then Scotty was. By that I mean that he will actually move when people are feeling my tummy. Scotty would totally stop moving the second anyone would touch my stomach. We are hoping to go get an elective 3D ultrasound soon, since Ty wasn't able to go to my 20 week appt with me and then I somehow lost the dvd they gave me within an hour of getting it.

Here is a 29 week belly pic. (also take notice of the 4th of July pics). And then a picture of why I am starting to feel quite squished, especially at night. ~Sleep is a thing of the past.~

Your baby weighs about 2.7 pounds and continues to grow every day. Scott's First Movie

We were invited to see the movie ICE AGE 3D. At first we thought that there was no way that Scotty would sit through a movie, but then we started thinking about it and remembered that he had done great at the baseball game last week and has done pretty good on the flights to and from Utah these past few months. And if worse came to worse we could always just get up and leave. So, I packed the diaper bag full of snacks, blankets and a few small (and quiet) toys. We picked up Grandpa, had a quick dinner at CPK and then met the group at the theater. The seat that was saved for us was right next to a poor unsuspecting lady whose eyes flashed with fear when she saw that the person sitting next to her had a 15 month old, and after a short 3 minutes of Scotty wiggling in my lap and babbling along with the movie I knew that the seat we were in was not the best choice. So we quietly slipped over to a new spot where there wasn't anyone near enough to be kicked and the people in ear range had a little chatterbox themselves. Scott did great, he didn't try to get off of our laps once.

It was a lot of fun! It is amazing to watch our little baby become a little boy. The movie was cute too.

Last night we went to a Texas Rangers Game with the office. We were a little worried because the last time we took Scott to a game we had a horrible experience. Scotty couldn't handle all the stimulus and screamed the whole time (well the 3 innings we actually saw). Here is the link to the Royals Game we went to last year. This year he did great!! We had so much fun! Ty loved being able to take his little buddy to the game and teach him all about baseball. The heat was a little killer. The car thermostat read 103 when we pulled up at 7 pm. We drank a lot of water, brought along some Evian Water Spray bottles, and at one point we snuck away to the air conditioned Pro Shop to fight the heat and humidity. But even the heat didn't take away from how much fun we had. The whole time we kept thinking about how much fun it will be to have 2 little boys to take to games in the future. I know I always say this, but I don't think I can say it enough, I love my boys!

Pregnancy Cravings

I haven't had too many pregnancy cravings since the first trimester ended and even those were more food aversions then they were food cravings. But lately I have been loving fruit! Watermelon, grapes, strawberries but mostly CHERRIES!!

Then my other (and naughty) craving is having a Kit Kat and a Diet Dr Pepper together. I know the last thing the baby needs is caffine and the last thing my butt needs is chocolate, so I try to keep this one down to a minimum.

I hope everyone had a GREAT FATHERS DAY this year!

I feel so lucky to have Ty and the dad in our little family. He is such an amazing dad! He is such a caring, thoughtful, loving, fun, gentle, kind, patient, silly dad.

Scotty is so in love with his daddy. Here are just a short list of things I love about their Father-Son relationship.

* SJ will follow Ty around everywhere Ty goes, and mimic anything Ty does.

*He says "DADDA" much more then he says "MOMMA".

*In the mornings when Scott wakes up, the first thing he does is call for his dad.

*When Ty walks into a room Scotty gets an instant smile on his face.

*Ty and Scotty have a song (that Ty sings) and dance (that Scotty dances too). It is a song that Ty made up about Scott. It is too funny to watch!

Scotty gives way more kisses to Ty then anyone else.

Scott loves carrying around an old snowboard pass with Ty's picture on it. He'll point to the pic and say "dad".

*If I get Scott up in the morning and he knows Ty is still asleep in the other room, he'll stand by the door and knock until Ty gets up.

It is so fun to be married to such a great dad and to be mommy to such a great little boy. I feel so blessed in every aspect of my life and am so glad that tomorrow we get to celebrate one of them.

1st Baby Gifts

By this time in my preg with Scotty, I had so many things for him. Between my shopping sprees and all the thoughtful gifts people gave me, I already had quite the cute baby stash started. This poor baby has been totally neglected when it comes to the spoiling aspect.

To my suprise, out of no where, Ty's boss sent these to us! It totally made my day (and maybe even made me cry) that someone thought of our new little guy.

Surviving the Storm

This past Wednesday we had tornado's in the area. It was pretty crazy. One moment Scott and I are outside playing in his little pool, then the next moment I hear distant familiar sirens. So I ran inside flipped on the news and just like I suspected, I was hearing tornado sirens. I couldn't believe it, because it was so calm and sunny outside. But sure enough within no time at all the wind started blowing, the skies started turning a yellowish green and the sirens got louder and louder telling us to "TAKE COVER". Having grown up in tornado territory and having experienced tornado's and tornado drills, I knew the basics of tornado safety. But I still called my mom to make sure I knew what to do. I also called Mindy who was across the complex with no TV and gave her a heads up on what was going on and what she should do to stay safe.

Scott, Keeley, my belly (which is becoming an entity in itself) and I all hunkered down in the bathtub with a twin sized mattress over head. It was a bit of a squish, but it wasn't bad. We played with toys, sang some songs and waited until the warning was over.

Ty, on the other hand, was doing what you are strictly asked NOT to do in a tornado situation. He was in the jeep driving around and picking up his reps who didn't have anywhere to take cover. (I secretly think he was out looking for a tornado, which is not smart! But he'd never admit that to his anxious wife.)

Of course I had to take pictures of Scott and Keeley surviving their 1st tornado.

Zoo Day ~ Texas Style

While Allison, Mindy and Presley were out here we decided to do another zoo day. It was a much hotter experience then the zoo day we had last October. We still had fun, we just didn't last as long and were utterly exhausted by the time we made it home.

Last Friday we went to the pool with some of the friends we are making out here and Grandma Wendy. It was a perfect overcast but warm day. Everytime we go to the pool Scott gets more and more daring. I can't decide if that is a good or a bad thing.

When we went again on Monday, he was very excited that there were so many kids there. He met 2 little German boys who found it their mission to bury him in the sand. He also decided that he likes Janene and spent a lot of time on her lap or perched by her chair. He especially liked it when she cracked out the food.

The Byron Nelson PGA Tour Event

Ty scored ticket so the Byron Nelson Championship from one of his customers. We came into the event on hole 16 and it happened to be right as Mike Weir was teeing off. So we followed him to hole 18 and then spent the rest of the time enjoying watching hole 18. Ty bought a flag and was able to get many of the players signatures.

I have had a lot of requests for a belly picture. Here I am 22w3d pregnant-- aka about 5 months along.

I hated the picture of me and since our camera battery was dying I didn't have a chance to take a better one. So I threw on a 'diguise'... It really is me. I promise!

The Flight

I was so nervous about our flight to Dallas. I was sure Scotty was going to have some major meltdowns, run up and down the isle, scream for things and not sit very well on our laps. As luck would have it, there was an available row open that they let us sit on, with Scotts car seat in the middle of us. It was so nice to be able to have his seat on the flight. He knows that when he is in his seat that he needs to stay in his seat. He required our attention pretty much the whole time-- "give me this treat, read me that book, play peek a boo with me"-- but that is a small price to pay to have a quite well behaved child.

About 30 minutes before we landed Ty was letting Scotty bite his (washed and clean) finger and then pretending like it hurt--this one of Scotts favorite games. What Ty wasn't expecting, is for Scott to bite down super hard with his sharp little teeth and not let go. Ty yelped out so loud that it scared Scott. Scotty started to sob, and couldn't be consoled. So I got him out of his seat, let him cry on my shoulder for a minute and then the rest of the flight was spent on my lap. Opening and closing the airplane window, waving at all the people sitting behind us and watching the city as we landed.

As we were getting off of the plane the flight attendants came up and told us how great Scotty was, how cute he was and then called him a "little flirt" (he loved all the attention they had given him and was totally playing back when they'd wave at him, play peek-a-boo, or smile at him).

I think the hardest part about it all was the all the stuff we had to carry around the airport with us. We had a diaper bag, a car seat, Keeley in his carry-on bag, my purse, Ty's backpack, a stroller and a 1 yr old. You should have seen us going through security. Ha ha!

I'm glad it is done, and can honestly say that I am not looking forward to our flights coming up in the next few weeks as we head back home for Geoff's farewell. The planes we will be flying on are smaller and we will probably not be able to carry on his car seat this time.

We are here! We've actually been here for 2 weeks now, but since we haven't had Internet until this morning I haven't been able to update here.

We are doing great and love Texas. Who knows maybe we'll stay here forever! (wink) The area, apartments, and people are all super nice. Not to mention there is "Expectant Mother Parking" at the grocery store, which will come in handy later in the summer when it is blazing hot, I've got a 1 year old in tow and I can't see my own feet.

Ty is shining in his role as manager this year. I have heard from every direction, just how much people love him and his co-manager (also named Ty)! They are a great team and are already showing much success in the 3 short weeks the summer has been going. I am so proud of him!

Scotty is doing great too. The first night we were here, he was a little nervous of all the changes and slept with us (nothing we want to repeat anytime soon!) but since then he has been back to his normal happy little self. We have a large balcony that overlooks the golf course that we have turned into a little play area for him. He loves to go out there and wave at all the passing golfers. We bought him a little tiny pool for the balcony that is perfect for those hot days that I don't want to take him over to the big pool. We'll sit outside and eat Popsicles and splash in the water.

I'm doing great! I am 22 weeks pregnant, and maybe kinda starting to show. No one believe that I am 5 months along... I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans, but not very comfortably and I think I am in serious need of some summery maternity clothes. My poor feet are already starting to swell, especially the left one. Little Benjamin is a shaker and a mover and you can now feel and see him kicking around from the outside. There are still many days that I forget I am even pregnant. I have been so busy with the move, and the day to day of a 1 year old that I haven't had the time nor energy to sit and daydream about this pregnancy like I did with Scott's. That isn't saying I'm not excited though. Yesterday at church I saw a little newborn sleeping in his daddy's arms and I couldn't help but get butterflies in my stomach thinking of the new little guy that is soon going to join us.

Scott has been wearing size 12 month clothes since he was 5 months old. Now he is almost 13 months and still wearing a 12 month (I don't think for much longer). That means he has been wearing the same size for 8 months!

It is funny becuase he went from 0-3 straight to 6-9 and then to 12. He never fit 3-6 or 9-12. That was all in the first 5 months of his life.

Just thought that was interesting.

Today I was feeling a little bummed that I was going to be spending another weekend without Ty (this has been the 3rd so far). So I decided instead of sitting around feeling sad, Scotty and I would go on a little date. We went to Chick-Fil-A where I ordered Scotty has 1st kids meal. We switched the fries for fruit and the toy for ice cream (which was kinda for me). Scotty ate 1 little nugget, meaning I threw 3 away, the WHOLE fruit cup, and a few bites of the ice cream. I got a #1 with extra extra pickles.

Let me tell you, there is nothing like the deep conversation of a 1 year old, who pretty much only says "uh oh" when something falls on the floor or signs what he wants next. The couple sitting a few tables away from us giggled at watching Scotty sign "more", "food", and "drink" throughout the meal.

This past week it has finally started to feel like *outside* weather! Scott and I have been spending our long days without Ty, playing outside.

Ty has been gone for 13 1/2 days today, which means we have 8 1/2 until he comes home to get us. I am so proud of him, he has been working so hard to get things up and going in Dallas! We sure do miss him though, and can't wait until the 2nd (which is also our 7 year anniversay) when we get to have him back!

Then on the 3rd, we are all flying to Dallas! I am a little nervous about how the flight will go with a 1 yr old and a dog. I am sure Keeley will do great, he has been on 8 flights before and we have never had a problem. Now Scotty on the other hand... we can't even get through 30 minutes of church, without needing to get out and stretch our legs. EEK! He too has flown a few times (at 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 9 weeks & 14 weeks) the first time it was a peice of cake, getting a little harder and harder on each flight. So wish us luck! I'm just glad Ty is going to be there to help me out.

I am getting more and more excited to start our summer adventure!

My baby brother got his Mission Call this past Wednesday. He is going to FRANCE (the France Toulouse Mission). He leaves June 3rd. I am very excited for him, he has been worried he'd end up somewhere that doesn't use toilet paper.

It looks like I am going to be the princess of the house for a bit longer because today we found out that we are having a baby boy! I can't believe I am going to have another boy! I am beyond thrilled. I have this mental image my 2 little boys rolling around and playing. (There was a secret part of me that kind of hoped it would be a little brother for Scotty).

It took the doc a minute to find his tiny little *stuff*, but as soon he did, Ty jumped to his feet and yelled out "YESSSS!" as if he were watching a sports game, and someone made the winning score.

And on a side note: The little guys profile was SO cute! We also got to see his tiny little hands, and feet. It is amazing that there is this itty bitty little person growing inside of me, and in a few short months I get to meet, hold and kiss him!

I feel so blessed and happy!

Today Scott James is ONE! This year has gone by so fast. I can't help but feel sentimental and a little nostalgic today thinking back on his little life and all the things that he has brought to ours. I love him so much, and feel so lucky that I get to be his mom. He has become momma's sweetheart and dad's best friend.

I did this 6 months ago, and wanted to do it again for the past 6 months. Here are some of my (our) favorite things about Scotty that I (we) love and want to remember...

Today we celebrated Scotty's 1st Birthday. We had a small group of family and friends over for pizza and cake. Scott loved all the attention, especially when everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to him. He wasn't too interested in the cake though, but he sure did a great job of making a mess with the frosting.

We had a great day! I am just beaming with pride over my little guy. I can't believe tomorrow he'll be ONE! What a great year we've had.

I can't believe the *summer* is almost here! Ty leaves in about 2 weeks and then Scotty and I will follow about 2 weeks after that. It is going to be a fun city to live in. I have already found a lot fun things to do out there online.

There are going to be quite a few other married couples with kids going out to Dallas this year. Which will make for a lot of fun day trips to the zoo, play dates at the park and enjoyable time just hanging out

I am also very excited that we are going to be living in really nice apartments this year! I'd post the link to the apartments on here, but that would be giving a little too much information about us to anyone who comes across our blog. So I'll just share a picture of one of the things I am excited for ... the pool! I think Scotty and I will be spending a lot of time here.

There are definitely going to be some things I'll miss here at home (not to mention I am a little nervous about being 8 months pregnant out there) but I am very excited to start this new adventure.

As I have mentioned before, we had a 1 yr photo shoot for Scotty last Monday (16th). The photographer takes 2 weeks to get the pictures proofed and ready for you. Well after a week Ty and I were dying to see one. So my husband (who has no shame, by the way) called Skye and asked very politely if there was ANY way to see just one teeny tiny picture. So last night she e-mailed him a few, along with the sweetest note. I am very impressed with her and think we'll stick with her as "our photographer".

As I was cleaning up the piles of books Scotty had strewn about the room, he found my baggie of peeps. I saw that he had the bag, but since I was less than a foot away from him and it was sealed I let him shake the bag. Then all of the sudden the shaking noise turned to a smacking noise...

The little stinker got one out and went to town. I know I should have immediately taken it away, but since I had the camera an arms length away I had to snap a few pictures first. I love this age!

Today I picked up my first pack of peeps. I have been tempted to many times, but I know that once I start on my Easter Peep binge it is hard to stop.

FYI: Peeps are an Easter Candy! I boycott all other holiday peeps! And although Ty knows this he seems to bring me a pack of Christmas/Valentine/Halloween Peeps every holiday, and I just can't bring myself to eat them if they are not spring colors and in the shape of a bunny or chick.

This past weekend Ty and I went to Las Vegas as our first little get away with out the litte one. We met up with some of my girlfriends and a few of their hubs. Our group was so fun, we had people fly in from as far as Hawaii and New York to be there.

Well the time has come to share some news...

Baby #2 is officially due!

Due September 21st 2009

Today we had our 2nd appointment confirming that there is definately a little person growing inside of me. I am almost finished with my 1st trimester, THANK GOODNESS!! It has been an extremely rough 2 months for me. This pregnancy has left me extremely sick, tired and emotional. I can't decide if this preg is actually rougher then Scotty's was or if it just seems harder because Ty has been gone a lot and I have been having to be a mom and be pregnant. Who knows?... But one thing I do know is that my morning sickness is fading away and I am starting to feel more energy!

And for those of you who are thinking "Wait a minute, didn't you JUST have a baby?" then you are about where we were when we found out. These 2 will be a little less then a year and a half apart. Not really what we planned, but now that it is happening we can't imagine doing it any other way and we are extrememly happy that Scotty will have a sibling so close in age to grow up with!

A BIG thanks to anyone who has gone out of their way and helped me out in these past 2 months. You have no idea how much every little thing has helped! Or just how much I have needed the little pick me ups.

What a rough week we've had.

What was supposed to be a fun mini vacation down to St. George turned into the beginning of the whole family getting some yucky stomach bug.

Friday night it began, the little S-man tossed his bananas... he was sick the whole next day and still sick on Sunday (the day we were leaving). So we packed up and headed out. Little did I know that I was next! Half way home I had to stop the car as quickly as I could so I could toss a little something of my own. I had to stop 2 more times driving home and then continued being sick all night, the next day and a bit of today. Of course Ty was getting a bit worried as he watched me get sicker and sicker. He has a work thing in Dallas and was hoping he wouldn't be sick for it. NOPE! Last night it hit him hard, and bright and early this morning he flew to Dallas, sick as a dog.

I stole this picture off of my moms blog, and had to share. We had a wedding a few weekends ago so Scotty stayed the day at Grandpa & Grandmas with his cousin Jack. There were so many cute pics (which you can see here), but I chose this particular picture because it is SOOOOO Scott! He is always trying to balance stuff on our heads. Just today we spent 30 minutes putting a hanger on my head, letting it fall off and then putting it back on. Oh, the things that make my sweet 10 month old happy.

Last week Scotty and I were at the mall, when a girl from Kiddie Kandid talked me into getting Scotty's picture taken.

The past few times I have taken Scotty in to get his pictures taken he WILL NOT smile. Not only does he not smile but he looks at the poor photographers like they are the most ridiculous people in the whole world. They will make voices, faces, crawl around on the floor, pull out toys, tickley feathers and play peek-a-boo. He will raise an eyebrow as if to say, "and this is supposed to make me smile?"

Since Scotty is a bit older, I wondered if he would be a little more cooperative. He was already in a happy-smiley mood and I thought for sure we'd be able to capture a smile. He smiled and giggled right up until the photographer got in place. As soon as she started talking to him, cooing at him, tickling him he immediately got a concerned look on his face and stared at the poor (and obviously crazy) girl .

Next time I am taking my video camera. It really is one of the funniest things to watch.

After my "randomness post" I had a lot of people ask about the soup I mentioned. Here is the recipe. Enjoy~

Chicken Taco Soup (slow cooker recipe)

PREP TIME 15 Min
COOK TIME 7 Hrs
READY IN 7 Hrs 15 Min
SERVES 8

INGREDIENTS
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) can chili (or kidney) beans
1 (15 ounce) can black beans
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (12 fluid ounce) can chicken broth
2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning
2 whole skinless, boneless chicken breasts
shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
sour cream (optional)
crushed tortilla chips (optional)

DIRECTIONS
Place the onion, chili (or kidney) beans, black beans, corn, tomato sauce, broth, and diced tomatoes in a slow cooker. Add taco seasoning, and stir to blend. Lay chicken breasts on top of the mixture, pressing down slightly until just covered by the other ingredients. Set slow cooker for low heat, cover, and cook for 5 hours.
Remove chicken breasts from the soup, and allow to cool long enough to be handled. Stir the shredded chicken back into the soup, and continue cooking for 2 hours. Serve topped with shredded Cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips, if desired.

1- Ty's ringer gets stuck in my head multiple times a day. As much as I like Bob, it is getting old.

2- Scotty needs new footed jammies. His growth spurt has left him with squished toes.

3- Last night I dreamt about buying new footed jammies for Scotty. All night I was searching and searching for the perfect pair. Every time I found them they'd either get sucked into an escalator or someone would steal them from me. Very frustrating!

4- Ty and I have both become iGoogle fans. You should see my *home page* it is full of games, quotes, pictures, and other things that make me happy. While Ty's is full of golf tidbits, news reels, and other boyish things.

5- Keeley is the perfect portable heating pad on a cold night.

6- It has been 6 years, 8 months and 3 weeks since we got married.

7- Even though I am not the biggest soup fan, I have found a soup recipe that is wonderful. I like it so much that after the first batch got gobbled up, I made a HUGE second batch and froze it into the perfect 1 serving portions that are easy to defrost whenever we need a good and quick meal.

8- It surprises me just how easy being a mom is. Sure there are hard parts, but overall it is the funnest, easiest, most wonderful thing I have ever done. It doesn't hurt that my little one is the funniest, sweetest, most loving person I have ever met!

9- A year ago we were enjoying the warm beaches of Hawaii. It was probably one of the funnest vacations Ty and I have been on. There was something very magical and romantic about it.

10- Scotty's Aunt Allison brought over this adorable hoodie from babyGAP today. She couldn't pass it up because she thinks "he looks cute in GREEN". It totally made our day!

11- There is a good chance we are moving to Texas for the summer. We won't know for sure for another few weeks. Where ever we go we'll have fun, it is another adventure waiting to happen. We love our summer homes and being able to try out new cities for a few months at a time.

12- My mom finally joined Facebook today. I can't wait to leave her messages, and read her status updates.

13- Last week we ordered Scotty his 1st meal off of the menu at a restaurant. We went to Texas Roadhouse for steaks and the little guy was not happy sitting there eating puffs. So we ordered a plain sweet potato off of the al a cart section and fed it to him. He was a very happy (and a very messy) little camper after that.

Jack and Scotty are about 7 months apart, although when it comes to size you'd never know that Scotty was the younger of the two. Last week I had Brooke and Jack over for some quality niece/nephew/cousin time while their mommy and daddy were busy working. I couldn't help but watch the two little boys interact and play. They are starting to become little friends. I love it!

After they played with toys, they each took their cups to the end of the hallway and sat by each other. It was too cute!

First Word

Scotty said his 1st official word 2 days ago (Jan 14)! He has been saying it for about a week, but I wasn't sure if it was just coincidental babbling or if he was meaning to say it.

But now I am sure...

His first word is "DOG" . He says it "Dah" while doing the sign for dog. He consistently does it whenever Keeley walks in the room or is around him.

It is so sweet!!

As a side note, he alse started signing *more* on his own yesterday. I am so proud of my little guy! I can't believe how quickly he is growing up.

Today at lunch Scotty and his girlfriend shared a kiss. It was so sweet! Presley grabbed onto his little face, pulled him in and laid one on him. Scotty totally went along with it. I was so glad to have my camera in hand!

We had a fun New Years Eve this year.

We started the night off eating pizza at a local pizza place and then took the party back to the Davis home where we played games, snacked on junk food, and chit chatted until midnight. At midnight we cracked open the sparkeling apple juice and lit off some of Ty's special fireworks.

Okay~ here are our Christmas Eve and Christmas photos.
We had such a fun Christmas.
We started our Christmas celebration as we always do, on Christmas Eve Eve. Ty and I have always made Christmas Eve Eve "our" special time durring the holidays. We take some time away from all the hecticness and just be together. Usually we just do dinner somewhere nice, but this year we took advantage of having a babysitter (THANKS AUNT ALLISON!!) and saw a movie too.

Then it was Christmas Eve. We started the day early this year because Stephen had to be into work in the evening. So we did the big meal at 2ish and then spent the rest of the day at my parents. We opened the traditional gifts (which include sibling gifts, pj's, ornaments, & grandparent gifts) and the gifts from Steve & Lyndsy's family because they were going to be flying to Washington the following day. Scotty loved all the excitement and being with his cousins.

I'd also like to add how sneaky my husband can be~ Before we went up to my parents, Ty "found" a gift "from Scotty to us" in the laundry room. It was a new HD video camera. YAY!!! We have needed (okay, wanted) a new camera for sometime.

As you can tell I took a little breather from blogging. After trying to do a daily blog in November I was ready to not even look at my blog for a while. Now that I am back in the blogging spirit I thought I'd share a few pics of our day at Thanksgiving Point.

Scotty climbed 3 stairs last week! We have our living/entry way totally baby proofed (so I thought) and just let him crawl around, but always in our line of vision. He was out of our vision for less then a minute when Ty went to get him. He had somehow managed to climb the stairs! When he saw us coming he gave us a huge cheesy smile and had such a proud look on his face.

Of course I made Ty stay with him while I ran to get the camera, so I could capture the adventurous move. But gosh, it scared both of us. At the bottom of those stairs is hard ceramic tile. I can't imagine how horrible I would have felt if he would have fallen.

My baby is growing up so fast!

A New Christmas

"You do realize Christmas will never be the same." I said to Ty as we were driving home from Salt Lake this evening.

Scotty was sleeping in the back of the car, and Christmas music was playing on the radio. It hit me all at once, everything about Christmas will be different now. Better. More exciting. We not only are transforming into white haired fatty's (wink) but we are responsible for making family traditions and carrying them out. We get to see the twinkle in our children's eyes as they learn the true meaning of Christmas. We get to spend our holidays enjoying the simple parts of Christmas that you forget about as adults. The little things like the note and cookies left out for Santa Claus, learning a new Christmas song, reading Christmas stories at night, hanging stockings and excitedly putting the Christmas tree up and decorations out.

How wonderful it is to become parents.

We had such a great Thanksgiving this year! We spent the day at my parents home, which is one of our favorite places to be.

The food was amazing, just like it always is. There is something about eating your families traditional foods that make Thanksgiving feel so special and comforting. Along with the huge turkey we had...

Scotty's Thanksgiving menu was made up of Sweet Potatoes and Avocado. He loved being able to sit up with the family in his highchair while we all ate.

After we were stuffed to the top we sat around talking, laughing and telling stories. I had so much fun with little Miss Brooke this year. She is at such a fun age!! Scotty and Jack are really starting to enjoy each other too. They follow each other around, poke each others faces, and "share " (okay, steal) each others toys. It was great to spend the day with Geoffrey, who has recently turned 19 and is getting ready to turn in his papers for a mission. Of course Amy was the life of the party, what would Ty do if he couldn't "brotherly" and "lovingly" tease her. I loved having Stephen there, he was my best friend growing up and is such a fun person to be around. I don't feel like a holiday is truly a holiday if he isn't there. Mom and Dad are still my favorite people on the earth and spoiled us way to much. It was fun to meet Geoff's roommate Nozomu who was far away from his family this year. The only person who was missing was Nurse Lyndsy who spent her day delivering babies at the hospital. We really missed her!

Of course before the day was over Grandma brought out Christmas present for everyone. She gave each of us a Christmas Book(s) to kick off the holiday season.

Thanks to everyone who made our Thanksgiving so wonderful! Especially, Mom and Dad for inviting us into your home and making us feel so loved (as always).

Being pregnant with Scotty.

Last year at this time I was at such an exciting time of my pregnancy (just starting to show, he was starting to move a lot, and we just found out we were having a boy). So when I saw this on Bethany's blog I had to steal it!

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant?
The bathroom in our apartment.

2- Who was with you?
Ty was sitting on the couch when I came running out with a test, trying to decide if there really were 2 lines or not.

3- How did you find out that you were pregnant?
Ty just had this weird gut feeling I was, so the day after his b-day I grabbed a test on my way home from work and secretly took it in the bathroom. After the 3 minutes there was this slightest hint of a 2nd line. I couldn't tell if it was or not, so I asked Ty what he thought... He *thought* that he maybe could kinda see the 2nd line. So we ran to the drug store bought a digital test... we couldn't belive our eyes when the word "Pregnant" popped up. I ended up taking a total of 16 preg test over the first week, just because I liked watching them say positive.

4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?
SHOCKED and so super excited!

5- Your husbands reaction?
All smiles! He was nervous, but if you know Ty, you know that he is easily excited. He felt like it was the best birthday present. He immediatly started "taking care of me". It was very sweet.

6- Who was the first person you told?
Geoffrey, he helped us tell the rest of the family.

7-Did you plan to get pregnant?
We had just gotten insurance, so I we weren't being as careful, but I wasn't planning on "trying" until the next month. So it worked out perfect, we were pregnant when we wanted to be, without the stress of trying.

8-Was everybody happy for you?
EVERYONE was!! We had been married over 5 years without even hinting at wanting kids anytime soon.

9- Did you go out and celebrate?
We went to a birthday dinner with my family (who didn't know until afterwards). Ty and I couldn't stop smiling at each other. It was fun, it felt like we had the worlds best secret.

10- Did you want to find out the sex?
Oh heck ya! And I am glad I did, the second I found out he was a HE I felt so connected to him.

11- What was the sex?
Boy. I just *knew* from the moment I found out that I was pregnant. Here is our "finding out" post ---> It's a BOY!

12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower?
Yeppers.

13- If yes, who?
Lyndsy (sister-in-law) threw one for family & family friends.
Allison threw one for me for my girlfriends.

14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby?
Not that I can think of. Everything we got was so cute and fun! (THANKS AGAIN!!!)

15- How much weight did you gain?
37 lbs (but some of it was the water I was retaining in my stupid swollen feet!)

16- Did you loose all of the weight that you gained?
Almost all of it right after I had him!

17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks?
Not a single one~ who says expensive creams don't work?!?!

18- What did you crave the most?
~1st trimester: Jalapenos, Veggies and Potatos (aka: Fries)
~2nd trimester: Oranges and Orange Juice
~3rd trimester: Cereal

What was stronger than my cravings was my food aversions. I couldn't drink diet Coke (esp in a can), eat any type of chocolate, asian food, most meats, and I COULD NOT chew gum. I survived on saltine crackers, granny smith apples, water, Sprite Zero and Special K with strawberries for the first bit of pregnancy.

19- Did you crave anything crazy?
~There was one night that I NEEDED a ceaser salad to the point of tears.
~Last Thanksgiving I had cranberry sauce and jalepenos on each bite of turkey.
~A Sprite Float (We were out with Kev and Allison and I think they thought I was crazy!)

20- Who or what got on your nerves the most?
There was a week or two there that I thought I was going to throw Ty off the balcony. Even him breathing in the same room as me drove me batty. (Sorry babe!)

21- Were you married at the time?
Yep. We were married 5 years, 2 months before getting pregnant.

22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy?
Just horribly swollen feet from week 9 until the end. To give you a hint of how bad it was... They couldn't even be wedged into CROCS on some days. I have some pictures of my feet when we were in Hawaii that would scare you.

23- Where were you when you went into labor?
The hospital with that wonderful pitocin. (I'm only saying it is wonderful, because after my water broke I never started contracting on its own, so without it I wouldn't have been able to progress).

24- Did your water break?
Yep, in the middle of lunch at Jason's Deli.

25- Who drove you to the hospital?
Ty

26- Did you go early or late?
My water broke the day after my due date, but we didn't know it until 2 days later.

27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth?
Just Ty. I wouldn't change that special time for anything in the world.

28- Was it video taped?
Nope.

29- Did you have any drugs for the pain?
Oh yes, it too was wonderful.

30-Did you go Natural or have a c-section?
No c-sec for me!

31- What was your first reaction after giving birth?
Uh..... maybe we should put him back in. But it only took a few minutes of holding, and looking at him to fall deeply and madly in love with him.

32- How big was the baby(s)?
A perfect 8 lbs 2 oz

33- Did your Husband cry?
Of course! It was a very amazing moment for both of us.

34- What did you name the baby(s)?
Scott James

37- Did the baby(s) have any complications?
Not a single one.

38- How old is your baby today?
7 months, 3 weeks and 3 days (waaaah, he is growing up too fast!)

39- When is the next one(s) coming?
You'll have to wait and see...

40-If you could, would you do it all over again?
Oh yes! Nothing has ever made us happier. The pregnancy, L&D and parenting has all been so wonderful!!
